Suzuki GV1400 Cavalcade

Suzuki GV1400GC Cavalcade (LXE)

The Suzuki GV1400 Cavalcade was introduced in 1985 for the North American and European markets. At the time of its release, it was the most powerful, heavy and luxurious luxury tourer on the market at the time. In terms of value, it was also the leader, surpassing Kawasaki ZG1200 Voyager XII by $ 2600, Honda Goldwing 1200 Aspencade by $ 2200 and [[Yamaha_XVZ1300 | Yamaha] Venture Roy $ 1900 | The closest in cost was the Harley-Davidson FLTC (Tour Glide Classic), which was only $ 300 cheaper than the Suzuki GV1400 Cavalcade.

The Suzuki GV1400 Cavalcade is based on a specially developed V-shaped (82 °) 4-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, 1360 cm³, producing 112 hp. power and 123 Nm of torque. The engine is distinguished by the presence of hydraulic valve clearance compensators and a specially shaped combustion chamber (TSCC - Twin Swirl Combustion Chambers).

However, the main feature of the Suzuki GV1400 Cavalcade model is its equipment - the motorcycle had a huge number of comfortable touring options:

  • Adjustable steering wheel, seat, footrests and windshield
  • Headlight adjustment
  • Air suspension
  • Pneumatic seat
  • Auto turn off turn signals
  • Radio and cassette audio system with LCD display
  • Electronic cruise control
  • Integrated bag system

The main configurations and versions of the Suzuki GV1400 Cavalcade:

The Suzuki GV1400 Cavalcade was available in the US until 1988 and in Europe until 1991, after which it disappeared from dealerships and was no longer sold. Despite the outstanding characteristics and equipment, the model did not become popular and quickly sunk into oblivion. Suzuki did not develop the luxury touring business, which took up a lot of resources, but did not bring much profit. In addition, Suzuki never managed to get around the Honda Gold Wing 1200, which was in much higher demand. Over the entire production period, only 8,500 Suzuki GV1400 Cavalcade motorcycles were produced, most of which (almost 7,000 units) were sold in 1986.
