Yamaha XV950 Bolt

The Yamaha XV950 Bolt hit the market in 2013 (as a 2014 model) and was based on an engine from Yamaha Midnight Star 950 (V-Star 950). The motorcycle was aimed primarily at the markets of Europe and North America, but is also sold in Japan. The name "Bolt" is mainly used in American versions of the motorcycle, but it can be used in other countries as well. The other model name is Yamaha XVS950CU.

The XV950 Bolt was inspired by Yamaha's desire to create a factory bobber with a classic V-motor and belt drive, perfect for urban use by classic American motorcycle enthusiasts.

The main modifications of the Yamaha Bolt:

  • Bolt - common modification. Also called Yamaha XV950 Bolt or Yamaha XVS950CU.
  • Bolt R-spec - version with modified rear suspension (shock absorbers with external reservoirs). Same as regular version + rear shock absorbers with gold reservoirs. May also be called Yamaha XV950R.
  • Bolt C-spec - cafe racer version. Similar to the R-spec, but with clip-ons and a single seat (with a plastic plug in the passenger seat). The fuel tank has been reduced by 1 liter (from 13.0 to 12.0 liters). Also called Racer . It was available from 2015 to 2016. inclusive.
  • Bolt Scrambler - scrambler version. Features spoked wheels and saddle shape. Available from 2016 May also be referred to as' 'Yamaha SCR950.
