The motorcycle was based on the engine from the sports-tourist Kawasaki GPZ 1100, which was slightly derated, reducing the maximum power and increasing the torque in the zone of low and medium revs. The result is a classic muscle bike with the dynamics of a sports bike and confident traction throughout the entire range of work. The engine is similar to the engine from Kawasaki ZZ-R1100 and differs from it in the camshafts, the shape of the sump, the lack of 6th gear and the use of carburetors with a reduced diffuser diameter.
Kawasaki ZRX 1100 was targeted at the Japanese and European markets, but since 1999, it has also been sold in small numbers in the US market.
Bike features a classic steel frame, advanced adjustable suspensions, powerful 6-piston front brakes, a 20-liter fuel tank and 244 kg of curb weight. The motorcycle engine is an in-line 4-cylinder liquid-cooled block with a volume of 1052 cc. see, issuing 106 hp. power and 98 Nm of torque (Japanese versions produced 100 hp). The gearbox is 5-speed.
2000 was the last year of production of the ZRX1100, after which it was replaced by a new model - Kawasaki ZRX 1200.
